A complementary love of science and faith led Dr. Drennan to a career in medicine taking care of neonates. After having maxillofacial surgery as a teenager, she felt called to pursue a career in medicine. Despite her own fear of blood and needles at the time, she plunged headfirst into volunteering at local hospitals and applied for the Texas Tech Undergraduate to Medical School Initiative Program, where she interviewed at the Texas Tech School of Medicine as a high school student for a highly coveted position following her undergraduate degree. A love for both pediatric patients and maternal health led her to the field of neonatology.
Taking care of tiny, resilient patients who require attention-to-detail and procedural care is her passion. "We see miracles happen every day in the NICU. It is such an honor to be a part of each family's unique journey," says Dr. Drennan. "I couldn't have asked for a more fulfilling career."
In her free time, Dr. Drennan stays busy raising her two young children. She enjoys traveling and is currently learning to ski.
