Biography
Dr. Fatima Salas comes to Grace Health System® and West Texas after serving in the U.S. Navy, earning the rank of Lieutenant Commander. She served as Medical Director for the Department of Anesthesia while deployed to a Forward Surgical Team in Afghanistan. She was also Director of the Pain Management Clinic at Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.
Dr. Salas was part of the U.S. Navy Health Professions Scholarship Program during medical school. She earned her medical degree and masters in public heath from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston in 2006. She completed an internship and residency in Anesthesiology at St. Vincent’s Catholic Medical Center at New York Medical College and Brigham & Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School in 2010. She later completed a Fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine at the prestigious Brigham & Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School in 2011. She is a double board-certified specialist in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
