Biography
I am a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of nursing and clinical experience. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and my Master of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner certificate from California Baptist University.
My clinical background includes primary care, pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, and medical oncology. Over the years, I have cared for patients with a wide range of chronic and complex conditions, including COPD, asthma, pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary fibrosis, and cardiovascular risk factors. These experiences have shaped my interest in cardiology and in understanding how the heart, lungs, and overall health are closely connected.
I chose cardiology because cardiovascular health plays such an important role in a person's overall quality of life. I enjoy helping patients understand their heart conditions, medications, diagnostic testing, and treatment options so they can feel more informed and confident about their health. My clinical interests include preventive cardiology, heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, valvular heart disease, and the relationship between cardiovascular and pulmonary conditions.
My approach to patient care is centered on listening first. I believe that effective care begins with understanding not only a patient's symptoms and medical history, but also their concerns, goals, lifestyle, and priorities. I strive to explain medical information in clear, understandable language and to involve patients in decisions about their care. I also believe in evidence-based medicine while recognizing that every patient is unique and may need an individualized approach.
When you see me, you can expect a collaborative and compassionate approach. My goal is for you to leave each visit with a better understanding of your condition, why we are recommending a particular treatment or test, and what steps you can take to protect your heart and improve your health.
